This is a tough one as many great bands and artists have covered this song. I personally think two of the best versions were done by the Doors and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The Doors' version has rather explicit lyrics, whereas Jimi's version has awesome guitar work and a killer bass line by Mr. Noel Redding. And if I'm not mistaken, I believe Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix did a cover together. I'm not 100% sure about that, though.
