White people were not allowed to mix with blacks either. Why don't people say that whites overcame segregation? Is having to just live with blacks worse than having to live with just whites

Because white people weren't treated as second class citizens. Do you honestly think white people had it as bad as black people during segregation? White people had access to all the better facilities.

EDIT: WHat is so wrong with my answer that I get four thumbs down?

There is a big difference between being sent home by the police for being white and dating a black person and being put in jail. Whites in American did not have to "overcome" segregation, they had to stop being willing or silent accomplices to segregation. The tide began to truly turn in 1945.

Being inconvenienced by segregation is not the same as being oppressed by it.

Since you were only born in 1988 I will let you go. You are simply not old enough to know any better. When you have some experience in the real world, maybe we can revisit this question for you.
To show you the flaw in your question, read some of the answers from the racist people talking about black people are servants.

Seriously, what are the schools teaching these kids. Do they even teach black history at all, or only during black history month. Even if they don't teach this stuff in school, there are tons of movies that reflect those times, some are even true and fact based.

the services that black people received as a result of segregation were substandard. Substandard schooling, substandard housing. If they had been treated equally it wouldnt have been a problem.

ineedhelp HAS BEEN REPORTED!!!

second:

the race that has been disadvantaged is usually the one that society focus on as far as who overcame what. I am Latino so I kinda know what black people went through.

Actually your great parents and likely your mother did a lot of mixing with blacks. The evidence is in your full lips on your avatar. ;-)

You know, it doesn't take much effort for your little pasty azz to read a history book every once in a while. Did you even graduate from high school? I doubt it because all of your questions are stupid.
