It is called the Mid-oceanic Ridge, and it circles the Earth from the Arctic Sea, down the Atlantic Ocean (raising itself above water at Iceland), splits up at the southern part of the Atlantic Ocean and extends into the Pacific and Indian Oceans, meets again in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean and heads north to western Mexico where it dives under western North America. Another branch heads north from the Indian Ocean and dives under Africa and also is responsible for the Red Sea rifting of Arabia from Africa.
