The Mediterranean hardly has any tide at all actually.
Where the entrance to The Med is, by Gibraltar, the channel is really narrow. So there can't be large movements of water through there. There is a small tide, the water flows from East Mediterranean to West and back again, and repeat......

yes, it is always at the middle of the night. The reason is that at night, the heat from the day melted icebergs which raises the water level. At night, it cools and everything freezes so that during the day, the tides are down again.
