Please explain how he was able to live at the end of the moive?

There are several holes in the whole time travelling thing - not one movie has gotten it right yet. But they do explain how Denzel's character is alive at the end.
By going back and saving the girl, he's changed the future. So he is now travelling an alternate future path. An alternate future where he doesn't end up going back in time, because the explosion never happens. And as far as the original future goes, it could cease to exist. Who knows, because there is no connection from the new present to that old future.
Did that make any sense? It's kind of like in Back to the Future Part 2, when Marty goes back home to the 80s, but everything's different (for the worse). To remedy this, he has to go ALL the way back to the 50s and get the almanac from Biff. Otherwise, he can never get back to the "correct" present day or future, because those have ceased to exist.

Okay so he goes back in time to save a women right? After going back in time and actually saving her he had to die, you know who he showes up not remembering anything, all he has is the dejavu feeling that he knows her. If he did not die he would then meet himself which would be impossible . I suppose if he didn't die he would if he meet himself, I would think he the time waves would collide and he would die. It would prolly be very nasty gross!!!.... so he had to die in the end .... get it?

the DW you see at the end of the movie the DW that you saw at the beginning of the movie, unawares of anything that happened. The DW that dies is the one who travelled back in time.
