Try Sabrina (the original 1954 version) with Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart. A couple more recent favs include Captain Corelli's Mandolin and Down With Love. There is also a 1995 remake of Sabrina that stars Harrison Ford and Julia Ormond.
A couple other Audrey Hepburn movies to check out would be Eliza Doolitle and Breakfast at Tiffanys and Roman Holiday.

I watch, on average, 6 movies a week. Here are the comedies and dramas I saw last week:

-The Last Kiss (excellent, com-drama)
-Along Came Polly (very cute, comedy)
-The Ladies' Man (decent comedy)
-Anchorman (hilarious)
-Cheaper by the Dozen 1 & 2 (surprisingly cute)
-Shopgirl (drama, interesting but not fantastic)

Good luck!

Notes on a Scandal is a drama released last Tuesday. I've heard good things about it. I know you said older movies but I just thought I'd suggest this one.

You like many of the same movies that I like.

Here are some movies that aren't totally new, though you may have already seen them all!

Any of the old brat pack movies - you mentioned "The Breakfast Club", did you see all of the others that were in the same time, like "Say Anything", "Pretty in Pink," "One Crazy Summer," "Better Off Dead," "Sixteen Candles," etc? All good.

If you'd like something a bit rebelliously adolescent and "girl power," you could try "Foxfire" with Angelina Jolie. Appeals to the mid-teenage crowd most likely, but it was pretty good. Does contain drug use, language and brief nudity, but no sex. It's a drama.

"Sweet Home Alabama" was funny, about a woman from Alabama who'd turned into a city girl and then went back home to visit, and had to deal with an ex husband and a current fiance. Not that old of a movie, though.

"About Schmidt," with Jack Nicholson. Slightly offbeat and pretty sad, but also quite funny at the same time. About an old codgerly man dealing with grief, and trying to find some point in life. He goes off in his RV, adopts a kid from the Feed the Children's program, and his daughter is getting married to a guy he doesn't like.

"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." Another not so old movie but an excellent movie. Quirky and artsy, dramatic and beautiful.

"American Beauty." You've probably seen this, but if you haven't, it was excellent. Kevin Spacey stars. Also beautiful, also dramatic, it deals with a family and their friends and neighbors, and everyone's respective search for desire and meaning.

"Chasing Amy." The third movie from Kevin Smith, and one of the best. About two guys and a lesbian and the struggles they have with love and sexuality. A modern look at friendships and preconcieved notions and insecurities. Dramatic, some funny parts though.

"Scent of a Woman." Al Pacino plays a blind veteran who's impossible to get along with. He is, however, a real charmer with the ladies. A college boy acts as his guide to NY for the weekend, and they go out and live it up a bit, in between moments of their own personal troubles. Features the best blind tango dance ever put to film. Drama.

"Dirty Dancing." Purely sappy. Young girl goes to summer camp/resort with her family, falls in love with the street wise rebel dancer who works on contract for the resort, to the distaste of her family and friends. Patrick Swayze stars.

"Far and Away." Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman star, but don't let that get you down, it's still a pretty good movie.A rich girl and a poor boy who have run away from their homeland fall in love and trouble in the American west. Long, dramatic story set at the turn of the century.

You may like most of the movies featuring Scarlett Johansson. Search 'em and see if any of the blurbs catch your interest.

"Good Will Hunting." Drama. Matt Damon, Robin Williams. A school janitor ends up being a mathematical genius, and is mentored by an older kindly professor who believes in him even when he doesn't believe in, or care for, himself.

"Meet Joe Black." Brad Pitt stars as a mysterious and enigmatic man who charmingly pushes himself into the life of an older, rich media executive. A stirring drama that follows the relationship between the stranger and the family he gets to know.

"Thelma and Louise." Two married women throw caution to the wind and take off on a reckless road trip, meeting strangers and dealing with unfortunate occurances after having a great time. Drama.

"Pretty Woman." Julia Roberts stars as a prostitute who is taken in by a rich businessman (Richard Gere.) He showers her with affection and gifts and turns her into a proper lady.

"The Cider House Rules." Michael Caine and Tobey McGuire star. A young man is raised by the doctor of an orphanage and becomes his apprentice. Eventually he takes an opportunity to leave, and goes out to explore the world, ending up living and working in a cider house alongside several poor black people, who can't read and have little hope of a future. He gets to know them and discovers many of the harsh realities of life.
