I have one in the kids room, they use it all the time!
The Disney movies are a bit too expensive to replace with DVDs!

We had to replace our DVD player so we got a combo DVD/VCR player and tossed the old VCR. We still have some VHS tapes that people want to watch so we use it once in a while.

Oh yes, still have the VCR. Have a DVD player too. I use them both quite often. The VCR is used mostly for taping shows when I am not home.

I actually have a DVD/VCR combination player. The VCR part of the machine doesn't work, so I can't record or play ANYTHING, but the DVD player still works and that's all that counts. It kinda stinks that I can't record my shows when I go out or am watching something else.

Believe it or not, but besides still having my VCR and still using it, I also have a Beta Max machine which still works. It was bought for me as a present several years ago (long before the VCR came out). At the time it was purchased (the Beta Max) it cost $1700.00
Have a lovely rest of the day.

yes I still have mine....belive it or not...I couldn't replace all my VHS tapes with DVD's . And my 5 yr old loves the VCR...it gives her a sense of being grown up and taking care of herself....because while she is not allowed yet to start a DVD on her own....she is allowed to work the VCR. because she can't scrach the tapes...LOL. And she used it every day...me not as much!

Not only do I have a VCR, I have two; One SVHS, the other standard; both are JVC's; they invented VHS. The SVHS has a built in Video Stabilizers that allows me to record from DVD to VHS.

I think I use my VCR more often than my DVD player. I will never surrender to the new wave of technology, no matter how obsolete I become LOL.

i still have mine and will have it as long as it holds out. I have a zillion vhs cassettes that are in a-one shape and I use it a lot. I use a portable dvd player when I watch my dvd's. I hook it up to my t.v. and it works great.
