Sorry but I just dont see present day Iraq ever being able to stand on its own two feet against the terrorists in the Middle East.

no because they were so used to being ordered around by a dictator instead of being strong and taking care of themselves. it is going to be a long time before they can stand on their own two feet

There will be an end to the mission in the same style as Vietman. Iraq can stand on her own if America would leave her alone.
And which terrorists are u talking about? As defined by America or by the English dictionary? The terrorists in the Middle-East preventing Iraq from standing on its own are the Americans. Period.

Once the US government realizes it has it's country to take care of and they realized that you can't control what goes on in the middle east because there are too many Islamic fanatic terrorist groups. They should stop wasting that money in Iraq and spend it on border protection and just be happy with the fact that they are on the other side of the world. now if the US is into world domination that is a different story.

Every conflict will come to an end at some time, but will there be an end to the interference by various government departments ,is another story waiting to unfold. Terrorists whether international or national will always be there ,waiting to size there chance to change the future.

If with "mission" you mean plundering the oil and other resources, then yes there will be an end to it.
