Francis Scott Key wrote the "Star Spangled Banner" in 1814 after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland.

The father of our national anthem in the US was Francis Scott Key who supposedly penned it whle the British was bombing Fort McHenry in Baltimore in 1814. It did not officially become the national anthem until 1931.

Welll....there is no father of national anthem but it is the writer who wrote it...And it depends on the country in which you live...and there is no country mentioned in the question but writer of INDIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM IS RABINDRANATH TAGORE.
