Resolve makes a great pet stain and odor remover. It's in a red bottle and it can be found at Target or Wal-Mart. Probably in the cleaning supplies or near the pet supplies.

I went to furniture cleaning class a while back and they did something that may help. First, determine WHAT is smelling. Is it the fabric itself or the foam inside? If it is the fabric that's pretty easy, but NOT recommended by the furniture industry. Try taking the slip covers off and washing them, once again NOT recommended by furniture manufacturers but effective none-the-less. If it is the foam inside, this is a neat trick. Take the foam out of the cover, soak it in whatever smell good stuff you want, preferably something with a micro-organism killer in it, and i mean soak it ! Take a big THICK trash bag, put the foam in it, take a vacuum with a hose, make a neck in the trash bag around the vacuumhose end and suck it dry. Should, if you do it right, compress and remove all the liquid and the smell. Good Luck!!!

Remove Pet Odors from Furniture
Man's best friend certainly likes to rest up on man's best pieces of furniture. While we usually don't mind sharing our comfy chairs with our pets, we do mind removing pet odors. If your furniture is starting to pick up the smell of your pets, try these pet odor removal hints: If your furniture is slip coverd, remove the cover and wash at least once a month to remove pet odors. Laying a dryer sheet on top of the furniture will keep it smelling fresh and clean and mask any dog smells. If your slip cover is not removable, freshen the furniture by sprinkling baking soda, corn starch or talcum powder. Vacuum after a few hoursThe powder will absorb the smells and leave your furniture with a fresh scent...=)

Did you use the Febreeze that says "fabric" on the can? If not, get some, & spray generously on your furniture, then allow to dry completely. Open a window or two, when drying your furniture. Animal odor is hard to remove. You may have to have your furniture cleaned by a pro.

You didn't mention if your sofa is leather or fabric.
If it's fabric, here's what i do with mine once in a while (this is very cheap!):
You need the following:
Big brush, liquid bleach, scented fabric softener, detergent powder & clean dry cloth (white if possible)
How: Mix well the following:
1/2 liter water
5 gms detergent powder
20 gms fabric softener
2 tsp liquid bleach
Brush the sofa fabric with the mixture in one direction. Wipe very well with dry cloth everytime you finish a portion. This is to stop the fabric from absorbing the mixture. Your cloth will soon become wet so you need a new cloth. So prepare at least 3 pcs. or more cloth depending on how big the furniture.
If you need more, make another mixture.

I spilled milk in my car without realizing. After a few days I sure realized (and it was probably similar to the dogX100) and like you say I tried everything to get the smell out, even Febreeze. But nothing seemed to work. SO I fianlly decided to pour the whole bottle of Febreeze on the spot where the milk was spilled. It took care of it and it has been fine ever since. GOOD LUCK!

There is a product called Pet - tastic. You saturate the area and let it dry. I used it on my own furniture for when my son falls asleep and wets through. You can find it in most pet stores.

Pet stores have stuff for getting pet smells out, one brand is "Out" -- use that in a spray bottle all over the sofa. Let it dry. Meanwhile buy yourself a slipcover and a tightly-quilted quilt. Before you put the slipcover on, lay some dryer sheets down on the cushions and arms. Put on the slipcover and quilt. Then keep the quilt, the slipcover and the dog clean by washing them.
