Protects the animals bones and organs

Food creates energy needed for the muscles

the muscles in the animal support the animal so it can run, jump and stand.
the muscles do not necessarily protect anything, but I would guess you could say they protect the gastrointestinal system.
the muscles do not make energy. The body makes makes glucose and energy and sends the glucose to the muscles for it to use and "make energy from it".
