OK... I have been having very loose stools for 2 weeks now and severe cramping with it. Yesterday, I had 2 episodes of diarrhea and with one of them I was incontinent--> I won't explain... I have also had lots and lots of pelvic pressure in the past 2 or 3 weeks or so and I went to the ER last night for the incontinence and heart thumping and they monitored me and said I was having contractions that were really small and irregular. What do you all make of this?

Ive had the same thing with the loose stools for about a month now. My Dr. said it was OK that it was all prep. for the labor. And the pelvic pressure will only get worse, sometimes if feels just as if they are falling out. But my Dr. said not to worry the baby wont actually fall out no matter how much you really think it will!! But Good Luck I wish you the best!! And the small contractions may do alot of good in helping you dilate.

Beth,
In the last few weeks of pregnancy, your body is getting ready to actually give birth. Different hormones are kicking in and pelvic muscles are relaxing in order to be able to stretch the birth canal enough to enable the little critter to make a grand entrance. The baby is dropping to add additional pressure on the pelvic girdle--and your bladder! All of these things happen to facilitate the birth process. The hormones are creating the loose stools, no big deal. That, and everything else will clear up after birth. One thing you can easily do to help tighten up the muscles concerned with the incontinence is Kegel exercises. When you pee, these are the muscles that start and stop the flow of urine. Tighten them up and stop the flow when you're peeing, it lets you know how they work and what it feels like. During the day, sitting around, tighten and hold for a few seconds--exercise the Kegels! 50 or more of those a day will help give you back the bladder control. The contractions are Braxton-Hicks, no worries there. They are normal. All of the stuff going on is just the body's way of getting you ready for the big day!! Congrats and good luck!!

Your body is getting ready to go into labor. A lot of times women will have very loose stools before going into labor as the body's way to get it out of the way during the labor process. The pelvic pressure is probably related to that. As to the heart thumping....did they hook you up to a heart monitor or take any blood work? I would think that they would check your electrolytes to make sure they aren't out of whack and make sure your heart wasn't doing anything funky as a result of losing electrolytes from diarrhea. If they didn't, you might want to contact your regular dr about that, that is NOT a normal part of labor.

I am 36 weeks pregnant and for about 4 days now, I have been feeling TONS of pressure and braxton hicks contractions. For the past 2 weeks my stools have also been loose. I think maybe your baby is dropping, which is what I was told is going on with me...don't worry, not too much longer!!!! Congrats!

The baby is putting pressure on your cervix and you are very close to delivery. My dau was born at 37 weeks, and everything was just fine. Keep close touch with your doctor. The loose stools are nothing to worry about at this point.

Sounds like your body is getting ready to prepare for birth. All those symptoms are normal. Should be any time. Good luck
