Now toploser you should know my reply by now what it should be! Now tell me is it not the fit ground for Cruelty both physical & mental for taking Divorce? when you know with HIV+ infection your life is limited to only a short period, you face certain death, no treatment for this type of HIV+ virus and any other viral infection if attacks the person the failure of immunity system makes it impossible for the person to get a self immunity against that viral infection, As you know no antibiotics can treat viral infection its only the body's own immunity system that fight the virus but if you have HIV+ virus that gives AIDS you have no chance for the body's immunity system to fight any other virus attacking your body. With all this medical information don't you think it is not only physical cruelty but more of a mental cruelty, your mind is always thinking about death & you die even before the death really approach you! When you hit your wife you hurt her physically that can be felt for some time but when you infect her with HIV+ virus you hurt her for rest of her life till death take her away from you! Now this time you'll say Vijay " you are becoming philosopher " , but truth is that if there is any height of cruelty it is infecting your wife with HIV+ virus, agree with me or not!

Was the husband himself aware that he was infected with HIV? The wife in her divorce suit would blame the husband for passing on the deadly disease on to her. Is there any scientific method to determine who was infected with HIV initially and passed it on to his/her partner? If no such method exists the husband can contest that he got it from his wife. And that would make it quite messy. So the wife should know these things first.
A moment's indiscretion on the husband's part has brought 2 lives on the path of an unfortunate, premature end. But apart from that indiscretion the husband might be quite loving to his wife. And for all you know, he might be sorely repenting the mistake. Instead of a divorce, wouldn't it be better to face the travails together?

Yes, one can divorce because of the transfer of the AIDS virus from another spouse.

You don't have to have a reason for divorce. If you're not happy, then get a divorce.
If your in-laws are always interfering in your marriage, then get a divorce.
If the husband prefers the company of the family dog over you, then get a divorce.

If my husband infected me with HIV, it would be a longer holiday than divorce!

It is complicated though..No she don't need a divorce unless she is not happy with the whole set-up. she is already infected, the discussion should be to prevent re-infection and that means discussing use of condom and keeping to their marriage.

It is sad but they need each other now. Being infected comes with stages, while in the stages of anger people tend to over-react but realize when relationships are broken and they cant find partners as their health status deteriorates.

The stress of divorce in itself is taxing and affects lots of infected couples. at the end you loose your husband and your dignity and being infected it adds lots of low self-esteem.

It is best to seek professional counseling and live a positive life.

They should only divorce if they went through all processes and find divorce to be the solution not out of anger and kind of revenge.

Well I would assume that maybe he was not infected when they first got married and that would lead to the conclusion that he had an affair and that would definately be reasons for a divorce. Now if she should or not that is her own decision.

It isnt anyones fault....you can have hiv for years without even knowing it. Why would you punish someone for something they didnt even know or want to happen. It sucks for them already.....why make it worse on them for something that wasnt their fault. If he had cheated to get it then yeah, divorce him! But, if its from the past ...theirs nothing you can do....besides stand by your man....It doesnt make him any less of a person!
