I have 3 marble mollies and 3 balloon mollies - I bought the balloon mollies only yesterday, and have today noticed that one of the marble mollies is constantly 'chasing' the balloon mollies.. kinda pushes them along, and is around the side/underbelly of the balloon mollies... what's the marble molly doing?

Sounds like a male chasing females in hopes of mating.

I think your marble molly wants to mate with your ballon mollies. THe males have agonopodium which act like a penis for them. THe female dont have this. The gonopodium is located is the folded anal fin.

Mollie's tend to be rather playful, i've got have been given 2 and all they do is chase one yet another around all day. oftentimes it does not grow to be agression so there won't usually be any reason to hassle to your fish except the angelfish seems to be getting under pressure, and if that is so i'd advise keeping apart the angelfish simply by fact the molly shouldn't end

looks like they are mating. my fish are doing the same thing. and a male has an extra fin on the bottom. My fish are mating cause its spring and its warmer. when the tank hits 70 degrees thats the right temperature for mating.

One of 2 things. They are mating or she is about to have babies and the male wants to eat them.

Chances are you have males and females. the best way to tell the difference is the dorsal fin. the males is quite small and the females are larger and longer. the females are also usually larger than the males.
