I think it was a waste of a pick. He is a very good return man and an ok receiver. You dont use a #9 pick on that. He may end up like Desmond Howard did. Very high pick and end up a backup receiver and great return man.

Where was Hester taken? I believe it was somewhere in the 4th-7th round. Ginn has a little more potential at WR, but they could have probably got him in the second round! And if not, how about Stuckey from Clemson, or one of the USC guys (steve smith or dwayne jarret) in the 2nd round. This pick was a joke, along with their entire draft. John Beck was the only good pick they made. They picked a center in the second round for god's sake! We need tackles and guards (although the scouts say this guy can play any position on the line). They picked another center in the 7th round. Lorenzo Booker in the 3rd round? He is explosive, but at his size, he will be a 3rd down back and a kick returner at best. I guess the Dolphins feel their biggest needs were at kick/punt returner, center, and 3rd down back. Passing up on Amobi Okoye, who will be 23 years old after he has 4 years experience in the NFL (19 currently) was a huge mistake.
Needless to say I am not impressed with our new coach Cam Cameron
as for IMAGMAN above, any team on the board would have traded their late first round pick for the 9th overall. The trade would have been straight up simply so the fins could get ginn and wouldnt have to pay him as much. That is the definition of trading down. You don't always have to acquire something extra to do so. It is a contract thing. And experts were saying he would have possibly been there in the second round. A lot of teams were looking at Brady Quinn and look were he dropped to. So I think you need to be realistic before you accuse someone else of not doing so.

He is a sexy pick due to the success of Devin Hester from Chicago. I would have rather traded down for more picks and picked up Quinn somewhere around 15 if I were the Dolphins. The Ted Ginn pick is a bit of a head scratcher. Maybe he'll prove everyone wrong. Even one of the greatest returners, Dante Hall, was only worth a 5th rounder to KC.

I agree, they could have traded down, and Ginn still would have been there. But the build up was so great! Every analyst kept saying, "They're about to announce Brady Quinn's name." Then, the commish said "Ted..." and you could barely hear anything over my laughing in the house. The look on Quinn's face was priceless.
Cheers!

As a Jets fan, I'm kinda glad the Fish didn't pick Quinn. When Ginn gets hurt (which he will, early and often), then maybe the Fish brain trust will realize their mistake. But then again, maybe not.

I thought Quinn would've been better, but who knows. Ginn Jr. might be Jerry Rice and Quinn Tim Couch. Or Qinn could be Joe Montana and Ginn Jr. David Boston - Who knows yet?

Not surprised they picked a WR but at the time they picked Ginn there were better WRs still on the board. I thought it a waste also to pick primarily a PR as your #1 pick

i became into thinking this myself. It wasn't like he sucked with the Dolphins and Brady makes him. He became into discovering with the Fins and he became into up and coming. The Dolphins have made some trades that i assumed have been stupid. The Welker commerce. procuring and merchandising a good DE to Chicago for Marty freakin Booker. and that i'm unsure approximately procuring and merchandising away Chambers now the two. He wasn't the difficulty, the group does not have a QB or lots else.

nobody traded for anything until pick 22, in order to trade down u have to have somebody to trade with. And no Ginn would have not been their at 32. Be serious too many teams were looking at ginn

Well, the team has to listen to their draft experts. BUT, the dumbest thing that they did was, they could have traded down to about 32, and Ginn would have still been there! I agree with you absolutely, Ginn is only explosive in the return game, in college. He doesn't have the greatest hands, and runs mediorcre-sloppy routes.
