I don't honestly care for Daphne -- though I love Clara. Daphne makes me think of Scooby Doo... and even though I know Daphne was the pretty one, it Thelma's personality and appearance that come to mind.

Both pretty names. I think Daphne Claire flows better, but Daphne Clara is not bad either :-)
I'm thinking successful, a name that can't go wrong even when this "unique" (strange) name fase has passed. Daphne is 551th on the Social Security Administration's top 1000 list of names for 2005, so she will have a "normal", yet not used to death, name. Clara is 246th (1297 girls got that name in 2005). Claire is 95th (3228 girls got that name in 2005).

I like Daphne, but I don't think Clara flows with it. What if you used Daphne Clair instead. That sounds much prettier. This is a beautiful name and it makes me think of a tall, beautiful, successful woman. Also an adorable baby girl :o)

My daughters name is Daphne Arianna.
I actually did get the name from Scooby Doo as it was my favorite cartoon when I was a kid. But it actually is one of the prettiest greek names I've heard. What it makes people think of shouldn't matter, it's what you will think. My daughter absolutely loves her name. I have never regreted picking her name. I think Daphne Clara is a wonderful choice.

Daphne reminds me of the airhead girl from Scooby Doo! I'm not a fan of Clara either. It sounds like a name for a cow. Sorry!

I've never liked the name Daphne. I do like the name Clara. I agree with a few others that mentioned that Daphne Claire flows better than Daphne Clara.
