Nylon strings will not work as they do not have have any magnetic metal in them. Acoustic steel strings will work, but they are heavier than those used on an electric guitar and can cause some damage. So it is best to stick with electric guitar strings.

Stick with elecric guitar strings for the electric. The acoustic strings will sound horrible and put too much strain on the neck.
