Careful--they slap back. My dad went hunting as a kid, got a goose, and his uncles had him go get it. It turned out it wasn't dead yet, and as he held it up to show them, it almost beat him to death with its wings! (He was OK). Also, avoid them in the spring. My husband used to be a zookeeper, and the geese at the Indianapolis Zoo ran free on the grounds. Kids would chase them around the grounds all year long, but when they tried it in the spring, they got a surprise. Geese get very territorial in the spring, and the geese would go after the kids!

Nope, but I've seen geese go after my husband. Did you know that geese spit when they're mad? It's nasty!
