If you've got a Stapler with you, pick it up and examine the part of the device that folds the staple inwards. if you turn the Stapler over, you'll see that there is facillity to turn this part of the device around 180degrees on its axis. This then makes the staples fold outwards instead of inwards. That's all very well, but why in the world would you be wanting to do it that way? Almost every Stapler has this facillity. I really can't imagine what benifit is to be gained.

I think it is to save space when the stacks of stappleditems are put in to storage. otherwise its a devious way to stab yourself in the fingers designed by a very clever sadist who wishes to inflict pain or random school kids and office staff all over the world.

could just have been a good feature to sell staplers that has become a tradition like fox hunting.

it depends on the direction in which the two ends of the stapler are slightly bent(inwards or outwards), the pressure only increases thatinitial bending inwards or outwards
I donnot see why the bending inwards is better, in anyway, than otherwise, both serve equallywell.

It's a booby trap... Someone who isn't expecting the staples to be all messed up comes to steal your paper, grabs it by the staple, and BAM! They've fallen into the trap and poked their thumb.
