The festivals during the Renaissance would be the horse races and athletic competitions "tug of war" that were local and varied. Many church related events were participated in as carried out by the confratias (sp).
Question 2 is too expansive. Try looking into Pope Sixties and Martin Luther and the major artists of the Italian States and German states (DaVinci, Michalangelo, Durer and many more) and Erasmus is very important.
# 3 The same aspects of life that we consider important today were considered important then. I think you are getting into the plague which hit the Adriatic coast about 1350 and wiped out between 25 to 50% of the population of Europe. Now we have bird flu and AIDS.
#4 I let you do for yourself. You are supposed to draw some what of a conclusion and see how it changes with the passing of time. Please excuse my many errors in spelling.
