Depends who you ask!
There are two ways of calculating size; base 10, in multiples of 1,000, or base 16, with multiples of 1,024 (2^10). Just to upset the applecart further, some writers mix the two. So a GB could be 1,000,000,000 (1,000^3), 1,073,741,824 (1,024^3), or somewhere between the two!
There are ways of distinguishing between the two systems; it was suggested at one time that k meant multiply by 1,000 and K by 1,024, but this gave rise to confusionmy misuse and cannot be used for M (m means milli).
The new way, now an IEC standard, is to insert the letter i after the prefix (as in GiB) to indicate a binary unit.

Take the gig /Gb and devide by 1000
1GB = 1000MB
It is a rounded total.. To the t it as somethig like 1023.8 to the GIG
