There seems to be references to an "Age of Enlightenment" in Europe around the 18th century. It seems that this refers to an age of reason coming to the fore, and not necessarily a golden age. Did Islamic countries ever experience this sort of thing?

No, they are still living for the Crusades which were in the 11th century. They are under the influence of "false enlightenment."

It was enlightened at the time of paladin, but never since.
