Computer will only boot with 266mhz ram not 400mhz anymore?

plz help i have tryed a new ram chip new power suply still nothing my computer will only take older ram for some reason although its full compadable with 400mhz ddr ram i have also tryed flashing the bios

Flashing your BIOS is scary stuff.

IF your RAM speed problems started after you flashed, you may have used the WRONG BIOS version. If so, flash it again.

If correct, in the BIOS, check the "Multiplier settings" for your CPU.

TIP: Use a RAM testing program to verify that it's functioning properly AND is the right type for your PC.
