No, there are pro democracy demonstrations regularly now complaining about the efforts of the party in power to reverse secularism. The army has just issued a warning about this. The prime minister is trying to put people into posts based on religious affiliation rather than ability and is ignoring the presidents efforts to veto these appointments.
Turkish politics have always been quite chaotic, but recently people are afraid that the fundamentalists are making an increasingly serious assault on the secular principles of the Republic.
The danger is that fighting will break out (again) between the two groups and then the Army will feel the need to step in to restore order.
We do not want to end up like the north African Islamic states in which Islamic movements have largely infiltrated the government. Intellectuals and civil rights campaigners have largely been liquidated there and hard won women's rights have been reversed. The process is beginning in Turkey with similar murders and attacks upon the intelligentsia.

Turkey's biggest problem, from a Western and EU point of view, is the growing Islamic movement to install a theocracy with Shia law.

Turkey is doing fine , just keep the military away , it is only the people who have the right to vote and chose their president , and using ballot boxes not armed forces
