The old rules is fine by me, but there are some who want the college system put in place where both teams get a chance " to be fair " ( wahh wahhh wahhhh )
They accurately point out that about 80% of the time the team who wins the coin toss wins the game.
Football is about change. Whether its moving the goal posts to the back of the end zone, or implementing the 2 point conversion ( Thank you USFL )

I got a great idea courtesy of the XFL. They decided who got the option to kick or receive by placing the ball on the 50 yard line. Each team would select one player. They then would line up at the 20.Then they would race for the football, treating it as a live fumble. Whoever got possession gave his team the choice to kick or receive. Well, I think it's a cool twist anyways.

so vote on the 2 options the NFL is debating and consider the 3rd option I put in.
1. Keep things as is.
2. Go to the college OT system
3. Use the XFL rule instead of coin flip to decide who kicks/receives

I say keep it the way it is, although I could deal with the XFL rule. Oh and they "accurately" point that out BUT neglect to mention how often the other team gets the ball and fails to score. That is the part that always bothers me. They never go by how often the team wins off the kickoff, which is what like 30% or so if I am not mistaken(every once in awhile you do hear the stat).

Keep things as is but have the flip before the game. If a team can tie it up with a chip shot FG from the two or win or lose in regulation by going for it do you think knowing who gets the ball first might make the decision a tad more interesting?

The college thing is cr@p that ignores special teams, one third of the game. I'd rather it be decided by drawing straws than "football lite."

Actually according to league stats the teams that wins the coin toss wins about 60% (not 80%) of the time.
I vote for #1 - keep things as is, it works well

Alice in Chains for sure Ive merely continuously been a fan... under no circumstances fairly were given into the different 3... i develop into under no circumstances inspired through Nirvana and discover it demanding to sit down by an finished Soundgarden album(not that i don't love them) So demanding to go back to a decision a favourite... probable poultry

I just want to point out one thing to you. The USFL had nothing to do with the 2 point conversion, that was a product the the American Football League ( now the AFC).

Here's my two cents.

Keep things as is, (with toss determined like that) but play out the ENTIRE overtime. Whoever is winning after that wins. That way each team has an entire period to work with.

I think they should have a different system. Have a ten minute clock, and instead of sudden death have the teams play it out. This is the best of both worlds.

I liked the college ways- Gives each team the chance to show who is truly the best.

They wouldn't do that XFL thing, they wouldn't want to hurt their million $ players
