Got a snotty letter off my ISP for going over fair usage limit (40gb/month)

Now I worry about about downloading movies and music etc and where I am in bandwidth. Is there an ISP that will just for example bill me £20 a month and them charge me per gb if I go over a set limit?

Dont mind paying sort of £30-£40 a month is the package is right.

Thankyou in advance

I'm with Pipex. I pay £30 a month. Unlimited broadband, unlimited free phone calls except mobiles.

BT option 3 is unlimited, nildram have a package where its limited daytime but unlimited midnight till 8am. Pipex have an unlimited package too.

If looking around take a look through the terms and conditions for fair use policies some are unlimited but only to certain levels. Some companies don't give set limits though and word it so they can limit if they think you are affecting others speed.

I was with orange and got annoyed as their terms state that it is unlimited and all they ask is you download during off peak hours. This I did but I still got a letter saying I had gone over a limit of 40gb. To me this is not unlimited if they are specifying a limit.

Have you checked somewhere like http://www.moneysupermarket.com/broadband/ ????? They should tell you who and who doesn't have unlimited downloads. Good luck, not sure if there's many out there! Let's hope they soon realise it's a bad idea and give us unlimited internet again on all ISP's
