How many Heisman winners were busts?
Depends on the definition of bust. However google "Heisman + Super Bowl" and tell me how many hits you get.
BTW, here's the list:
1991 Desmond Howard Michigan WR Green Bay
1981 Marcus Allen USC HB Raiders
1980 George Rogers SC HB Washington
1976 Tony Dorsett Pitt HB Dallas
1970 Jim Plunkett Stanford QB Raiders
1965 Mike Garrett USC HB Kansas City
1963 Roger Staubach Navy QB Dallas
1956 Paul Hornung Notre Dame QB Green Bay
8 in 42 years. Do the math then we can ask GB fans if Paul Hornung was great QUARTERBACK. We can also ask them is Desmond Howard was their best WR.

Not odd at all. Heisman trophy winner Charlie Ward wasn't even taken in the NFL Draft and turned up in the NBA playing for the Kicks.
QBs that win the Heisman aren't always NFL stars.
Just look at recent history Gino Torretta, Charlie Ward, Danny Wuerffel, Eric Crouch, Chris Wienke, and Jason White are all QBs that have won the Heisman that were either busts or had no impact at all in the NFL.
Troy Smith and Chris Leak are very small in terms of NFL QB size. Both QBs have poor mechanics and cant read defenses well. They both got away with alot flaws based on talent in college that they can't in the NFL.

no
many Heisman winners won National Championships
many were QB's
many got drafted really late
imagine when there was more than 7 rounds
Ty Detmer had all the passing records and the Heisman and was drafted in the 9th round
Gino Toretta won the Heisman on the Champion Hurricanes and I think he went either undrafter or the Vikings drafted him with one their last picks. He lasted like 1 year in the NFL too.
Charlie Ward went undrafted because he announced he was going to the NBA
Theres a lot of stories like that
Crouch of Nebraska wasn't even drafted as a QB even though he won the Heisman as a QB and he was a last round pick who never played a down in the NFL
Its quite common
actually Smith did get love....there were many QB's rated higher than him who went undrafted

Troy Smith will win the Heisman, Ohio State will win the nationwide championship. The draft order will be: a million. Troy Smith to Oakland 2. Adrian Peterson to Houston 3. Brady Quinn to eco-friendly Bay i have not discovered something yet.

Not at all. Both Leak and Smith were products of the offensive system they were in. Just about any other QB in the country could have put up the same numbers as they did if they played for Florida or Ohio State.

Success in college does not always correlate to success in the pros. Many times the trophy winners are "system" guys. It is funny though how Matt Cassel, New England back-up QB, was drafted despite being a back-up in college, to Carson Palmer & Matt Leinart mind you, and only throwing 33 passes.

Troy Smith isn't NFL material plain and simple. It's a wonder he was drafted at all.
But look at where a couple of NFL greats were picked: Joe Montana was a 3rd round pick, Tom Brady was a 5th round pick.

Nope. People have listed about 1000 times now why Smith was drafted late. I am not doing it again. As to Leak, who heard of him. Seriously until that title game he got no real attention. He was part of a tandum, it was 2 QBs at Florida, he didn't do all the work.

He was too short, was on an overrated team and didn't handle pressure well. ESPN can blow sunshine all day about their precious Big 10 teams, but the NFL scouts know where the talent is. THE SEC!!!!!!!
