I don't forsee the possibility of getting rich overnight. I'm getting rich slowly...... saving a little of each paycheck and investing it wisely, I hope.

Ten people were just interviewed over a National hot line that were millioners overnight through the lottery, inheritances or other means. They were all bankrupt.

It's a proven fact that most people that weren't born into money don't know how to manage it and loose it all within a year.

A friend of ours inherited 3/4 of a million tax free. They, husband and wife went nutso over it. They started buying things they would never have though of before. The trouble was, everything they bought they only put money down on it, never paid for it whole.
She walked around with a small bag of jewels, she wanted to make sure she had an asset. She spent more time taking these out and counting them then she did eating, always counting them. She became very paranoid. He bought boats, cars and motorcycles, always wanted them, never used them.

The trouble was, they only made down payments on these things. One day the creditors came knocking, they had to start selling things to pay the bills, again, they didn't sell the right things, only kept what was foolish.
They didn't ask advice to anyone, spent it until they had no groceries. I didn't believe the National pool until I saw it in person, now I'm a believer and happy with what I have.

Tough call.

I`d first take some time to think what i REALLY want, and what i still (think that i) need.

Then, depending on how rich, i would give some donations to my favorite charities, but also make sure i`ll save enough for myself for the time i`ll no longer be rich.

As for the rest, well, give me $5 million - and i`ll give you a full and exhaustive report of what i have done with it :D

Share with immediate family and a couple of friends. Try to help out some people who really need it. I would try to help some struggling college students and some good people that I know who really need a break. Invest. Travel a little. Live comfortably but not extravagantly.

Play Robin Hood. I would invest funds in consumers rights activists (the modern Nader's Raiders) poverty groups etc.
I would sue Donald Trump for scaring/scarring little children with that hair of his and offer free hair transplants for the follicular challenged.
But I would say a mill or so for me and my family (always wanted a Porsche).

Peace
