Welcome to the Fam. As long as you are believing on Christ, you are a Christian! I don't know what you have learned about it so far, but basic teachings in Christianity is that NO one is good enough for God. That's what Jesus was ALLLLL about. Your incident does illustrate this, but no more or less than any of your other sins (past present or future) and no more or less than any of mine. Your sin, and your conviction of it...is absolutely God's way of telling you you aren't good enough. The great news is that you don't have to be. All you have to do as a Christian is LEAN. Not as in lazy leaning. Relying leaning. Christianity does call for repentence, which is the active turn away from the way you were...and a host of other things. The lifestyle change is something that happens to you because you WANT to be obedient, and also, I'm convinced, because when you let God into your life, a great many monkeys on our backs have a LOT less power. But God is working on all of us and we won't ever get there, and you WILL continue to miss the mark once in a while (the word sin was originally an archery term, did you know? It means missing the target.) Furthermore, the Devil is a big fat nasty LIAR. When you made your confession of faith, it burned Satan and it made him all the more interested in screwing around with you, planting seeds of disbelief in you that you have not been touched by the Alpha and Omega. But you absolutely were. All this doesn't mean you aren't supposed to try to do right. However, the trying isn't what gets the job done. The faith that you have a Savior who is making up for your shortcomings DOES get the job done. My suggestion to you is to get into your Bible, get into a good church, so you can learn what it means to live the life you have now chosen. Pray for peace, victory, and wisdom. You will get it.

i would have to define failure as attempting to establish and not succeeding..tho many places have had missions they may have been killed or run out but the lasting effect is what makes an mission a success...for a mission to be a success is to reach one person.....or open up a door for people to make a choice...opportunity is the first thing that is given in a mission work...true missions cant fail..

I'd have to say spreading measles to most of the indians of Venezuela would be a failure of Protestant missionaries.
