Firstly what sort of battery acid? Wet cell is sulphuric acid and will eat your carpet away. Neutralise and put a rug over as suggested before or renew carpet or get in a carpet restorer. If its leakage from a dry cell get advise from the battrey manufacturer or an expert carpet techy cleaner

Use Baking soda, pour on baking soda and allow it to neutralize the acid, then brush into some throw away container, being very careful not to breath the dust of the baking soda and battery acid use gloves when working with this method as battery acid will burn your skin.
Or you can use Coca Cola pour on some allow it to fizz then press a cloth to absorb the liquid containing the battery acid mixture do this until all the liquid is absorbed then remove the residue with a little dishwashing detergent and water mixture, then rinse thoroughly but being careful not to soak carpet to padding, Put a white towel over the spot over night weighed down with some object then the next day remove this towel and sprinkle spot with a little baking soda and allow this to sit all day then just vacuum up. Good Luck !

Ouch!
You dont.
It is 50% sulphuric acid and the damage has already been done to your carpet.
But, you need to neutralise it. Use bicarbonate of soda to do this. Dissolve in water and add to the acid. Keep adding until it stops fizzing. Then lift it with a sponge.
This stuff (the acid) will burn you bad. Wear gloves and be sure not to splash any in your eyes. If any gets on your clothes, expect holes to form where the acid lands.

once you're speedy sufficient, you may sell off an excellent style of water onto the spillage to dilute the acid yet you're nicely previous that now. All you're able to do is watch the stuff consume a hollow on your carpet. next time, positioned the issue in a bowl once you convey it into the domicile.

You wont, i would suggest using lots of water on the area affected and then buying a rug to cover the area once it has dried out. Good Luck.
