Hi fuel pay.---- Thought your idea was going to work, but it hasn't. Don't really want to use system restore, as the problem has been there for a few months now (it's just that I have a lot of patience ) and quite a bit has been added. Thanks anyway.
If you have other ideas 'thanks in advance'

Hi go to Start > Run and type "msconfig" without the inverted commas. Choose the Start Up tab, find the application causing this search and untick it. Press Apply and OK and then when you next restart it should not happen.

Another method is to go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore and restore your PC to a time when this was not happening.
