You can use any printer as long as you have the right hook-up and the appropriate driver. You only need to use dell parts if your laptop breaks down and needs replacement parts.

You can use any brand printer. For example, I have a Toshiba computer, and a Canon and a an HP printer. Just be sure to follow the printer's installation instructions and you'll be fine.

As long as you are running a windows based operating system any printer brand will work. In fact I would encourage you to go with another printer manufacturer as dell printers are for lack of better terms.. crap.

Any printer is fine. I'd go for an all in one--with a scanner and copier, too. You probably don't need the fax if it's for home use. I love my HP All-in-One. It's lasted me four years so far and I have never had a problem with it and I print a TON, considering it's a home computer. I'm on my 6th ream of paper in a year which is a lot for home use.

It is probable that the Operating System (Vista for instance) has the driver installed yet. You shouldn't be worried about it, just plug the printer and start working.
