does anyone have any suggestions of where I can store bank #s, passwords, scans of my birthcertificate etc. Though I have hard copies in the bank, I want to be able to easily access them on the computer but i am worried about safety on the computer or someone from the internet hacking it. Is there somekind of program for this. Or something that will password protect? Or maybe some external device with a keypass? Thanks.

I have all 89 of my passwords (seems like every site wants a user name and password), all my program and PC game serial numbers, bank account numbers, and credit card numbers all in one program that uses encryption.....
Just remember, any program that uses encryption is only as strong as your password....

The program I use is TK8 Safe from a company in Germany, very helpful people, I have had nothing but good experiences with them, and this program is awesome.....and it has a 30 day free trial, check it out

I would advice on using an external hard drive or high capacity memory stick, only plug in when you need to use it, unplug when you are done, so in event of hacking, the hackers will have little chance of accessing these info .

You can use an encrypted volumn or folder, but if you do get hacked, the password for these can be lifted and all info inside wil be wide open.

You do have a right to privacy....except when it deals with matters of public records...which anyone can freely access..thus there is no expectation of privacy. Criminal Records,Speeding Tickets,Mugshots,Sex Offenses are all a matter of public record unless sealed by court order. Marriage Records,Divorce Records,Birth records,Death records, property deeds, phone books, local maps, zoning records and other state records are all a matter of public record... Thus using the information contained in those public records they can compile a list of the different addresses that you have lived at, phone numbers, birth date, mother and fathers names address, names of other relatives, directions to your house, picture of your house ect. The internet just makes it easier to access the public records otherwise the person would have to go and physically look through the public records kept by the state/government. So you have never really had total privacy since public records have been around for over 150 years. Total privacy is impossible even if you stay off the grid from the time you are born, because somewhere at sometime you will end up being placed in a public record for some reason.
