Why do people ask this question on Y!A???

It's so silly. Do they honestly expect an answer?

Also they ask how can I do it painlessly? They are trying to end their lives...

I'm not hasseling people who are depressed and suicidal. I've been through both in my life.

I don't think suicide is an answer though.

Mental health effects everyone in someway so why are we not doing more about it??? Why are we so ashamed of it??

Actually, this is a rhetorical question. Not requiring an answer, purely to trigger thoughts and emotion

I agree with you, people shouldn't want to end there lifes. I think that everyone is on this earth for a reason and it's sad that so many people in this world don't seem to understand, how much they are loved by others.

Personally, I've always thought it would be a good idea to work for the Samaritans - then I could give step-by-step instructions to help them on their way. Basically if they don't really want the air they breath, then I feel myself and other people who do want it will have extra. Seriously though, I always like to think 'half full and not half empty.'

If you look at it another way, people who want to end it all, can't have much imagination - if you kill yourself, you have absolutely no idea what comes next - I would have thought nothingness, no conciousness - not even an awareness that you are you - very boring! On the other hand if you live - you could walk down the road and keep walking until your are a thousand miles away from what was upseting you. If it's an illness then making it your lifes mission find a cure would seem to be in order. I think the only time probably death is preferably is if you are alive and concious but are unable to do anything - then I suppose nothingness would probably be better!

Hang on a minute - why are you wondering about this anyway - rhetorically speaking?

Well, rhetorical or not I think I'll take a stab at it.

If I wanted to go out in a blaze of "glory", there's an almost mountain (big friggin hill) an hour away called Lizard Butte that has a giant cross on top, and behind it is a large outcropping of rock that looks like a ramp...it gives the illusion that if you were going fast enough, you might even be able to jump a motorcycle clear to the highway.

And if I just wanted to be sure that I died, I'd cover my self with dynamite and detonate it...I'm not a jihadist though, I'd do it out in the desert all by myself.

But I don't really want to kill myself. These are just old thoughts from high school, when every bad thing carried "so much weight".

certain, he truly committed suicide. The "heritage" Channel in simple terms realized that conspiracy theories get them a higher target audience so that they do those heritage's mysteries stuff. also, they'd exhausted each and every plausible topic as regards to WWII so now they ought to make stuff as a lot as get more advantageous cloth.

They don't ask it because they are depressed or suicidal, they ask because they want attention, people to reach out, to shock people or cause worry, basically to get any sort of reaction. It's not a matter of poor, neglected individuals crying out for help, it's about attention-craving, depraved people wanting to get a rise out of others.

When someone asks you how to commit suicide, they are letting you know, they are contemplating it. They are letting you know, how tough they are finding it to be alive. They are asking for your help. They are not looking for a literal answer.
