Notre Dame tied for 3rd most players taken from any school in the country. I don't understand why, especially their defensive players were taken so soon, or at all for that matter. They have a weak schedule for the most part and got pummeled by the better teams they played. Brady Quinn is awesome, but after that....questionable.

Brady Quinn was just good until Charlie Weis got there. Brady Quinn doesn't play exceptional. Notre Dame is a good football school, but always over hyped.
Basically cause there name is "Fighting Irish"

I'm NOT complaining about it, but it's a huge fact in sports.

The program they run at ND is known for producing bright, well disciplined football players with good character... and of course, there's Charlie Weis (with Patriots during superbowls)... in my opinion, that's the main reason.
Other than that, I totally agree with what you say, "They have a weak schedule for the most part and got pummeled by the better teams they played."
Also, just to add, Quinn was not "awesome" during the "better teams they played"... he and that entire team were beat down in their bowl game... even with Charlie as coach.

Two reasons. #1 they are good. #2 Their head coach was Charlie Weis and he runs a NFL style team. The players coming from Notre Dame already have a leg up on other rookies because they have already learned many of the NFL schemes

I concur with most of the others - Weis joined a professional program and made a semi-pro team out of college kids...

You don't see too many Notre Dame kids on the front page of the paper for late night fights involving weapons and drugs...

Charlie Weis runs a pro style offense so their players are more NFL ready than others. I agree with you about their defensive players, I don't understand why so many of them were taken.
