Was told that by doing so the bulbs or tubes will fuse easily or shorten its life span but no logical answer offer so far.

The natural grease/oil of the skin can cause uneven heating of the surface of the globe and can lead to malfunction of the globe, I know this applies to halogen, because they heat up so much. It can also leave marks affecting the output of the lamp. The grease can also cause dust to adhere to the globe, again possibly affecting performance.

The oils from your hand will cause hot spots on the bulb when lit and shorten the life expectancy of the bulb

The quartz surface will be exposed to the salts and oils in the hand. This will cause a weak area and lead to premature lamp failure.
