We will definately be there during the evening magic hours and possibly the morning hours( I'm not a morning person and we're 1 hour later where I live) but should we go to another park for most of the rest of the day to avoid the crowds? I read in the unofficial guide that it's a good idea. We will be there from May 26 - May 30

I also have the unofficial guide but it all depends on when you go, at the end of may, schools out and the parks are crowded anyways, but we go in mid-sept and it really isnt so bad. The crowds with the younger kids tend to leave early, right after the fireworks, and all thats left is the older people without children. In my experience, it was no different than a regular day in the off season. I really enjoyed the extra magic hours and it gave us more time to enjoy the parks. I would def. suggest it but its really a touch and go kinda thing. I guess when you get there, see how crowded the park will be and go from there.

I've never done that, when I actually go to do a lot of rides. I go to the morning Extra Magic Hours. While there is still a lot of people waiting to get in, you can get on a lot of popular rides with little or no wait.

The best thing is that you will have done a lot of rides before the park even opens to the general public. I find for the morning hours that it is usually mid-afternoon, around 2 or so, until the rest of the crowds seem to catch up, at that point since the lines are long, I assume that they are skipping longer lines and such. But I find that I can cover a good majority of the park before I really have any crowds to deal with.

Now, what I would do, is stay in the parks for a while and see how the crowds are. If you find that they really aren't bad, you might as well stay. But, if they are bad, you can leave and then go back to the parks for evening Magic Hours. If the crowds don't catch up until around 2 or so, that will be the hottest hours of the day, so you may want to leave, go eat, etc. and then come back when it cools down a little.

Have a great time!

Although the magic park hours seem like a great thing, the problem is that there are so many Disney hotels that there are a ton of people there with you during these special hours. I have actually been able to ride less rides during these special hours because the fast passes are all used up and shut down late at night. Because of that, the nights are a waste of time. The morning magic hours are a little bit better, if you have to choose. Don't give up on regular hours, you'll still have a ton of fun, and you can benefit from fastpasses
