The Australian cricket team is the national cricket team of the Commonwealth of Australia. It is the equal oldest team in Test cricket, having played in the first test match in 1877 (defeating England by 45 runs). As of March 2007 the Australian team has won 320 of its 687 Test matches and has led the ICC Test Championship table in an unbeaten streak since the first table was created (January 2001). They are also the winners of the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Statistically, Australia is widely considered to be the strongest cricketing nation in the world. They are also the first-ranked international one-day cricket team, having won 401 of its 654 One Day Internationals. Australia won the Cricket World Cup in 1987, 1999, 2003 & 2007. They are the only nation to have won the World Cup 4 times and as of 28th April 2007 are undefeated in 29 consecutive World Cup matches, winning three World Cups in the process. They have lead the ICC One Day International Championship table from its inception through to February 2007 and then again from April 7th 2007. The one-day team has recently undergone a name change, and will be officially known as the "Commonwealth Bank One-day International Team" following a three year deal between Cricket Australia and the Commonwealth Bank. The name change came into effect for the 2006-07 Commonwealth Bank Series.

Money talks when Ausie wins
the opening batsman of Asstralia
I think when "Gill" drank some fluids which
brought by Autralian reserved player,
might have given him this power hitting ability

Gichrist did illegal thing
me think when "Gilcriss drank some fluids which
brought by Autralian reserved player,
might have given him this big hitting power
Law 3 (6) (c) (i) specifically prohibits a player from using equipment other than that permitted. And nowhere in cricket’s 42 laws is there a mention of a squash ball as a permitted item.

sri lanka could have won under better circustances,

if it was a 50 over match
if the weather was better.

this was the only match in the world cup it wasnt 50 overs. they should have postponed it for the next day or a day the weather was good.

Ultimately....rain & light chaos prevented
Sri Lanka from winning the World cup 2007
still some fans demand srilakns
shut their mouth about this UNJUST....
At least these fans ~criss and ~sord rox and lara king~
doing something against this ~disgusting unjust
thanx again guys
we dont worship Kangaroos
we worship .. only god

hello
australian team is a great team now i think they got perfection on cricket they r like gods of cricket now
other teams just have to compete to play against them in finals and should be happy to be the second to them
but australians lacking manners thats the problem for them they should improve their standard of respect to other players and teams
we all appreciate their play but if they behave rude like that they just treated like a local team even they r world champioans for 4 times
good luck australia

sorry here it goes...
THE TRUTH
!983-Kapil dev -won(India)
1992-pakistan won
1996-Sri lanka won
since 1992 Asian teams Qualified to Finals with Australia
2007 is the time who gave a biggest fight Aus and
It was Sri Lankans
and the final was didiculous .
2 worst decitions of worl cup finals given against sri lanka.
ICC could have called off the saturday match ,
because it was marred by constant arain ,bad weather
& bad light.
Instead when Australia got Advantage of the "ToSS"
& the start, everybody wanted to continue it ,
in order to make Australia "any how" the Winners.

they knew if they used the reserved day ,the Sunday
the toss & luck would have gone Sri lankans way.
They simply did not want to RISK it.
the money power & umpires always helped them to
your so called "Dominance"
Asians are the best
Even Bangladeshis beaten Bragging Ponting.
Everybody knows this truth .
but they dont want tell it ,
One of the reasons are, if they do ....
some of the "Australia backing-answerers "
use "bad words' to reply .
some Australian suporters always prefer worst
way possible to answer to the Secret of their
"Bribed -success"
other countries dont want to win by these unscrupulous means.

Vakayil answered brilliantly and the two web sites mentioned should help.
Ignore the Aussie bashers as they are merely emotional, irrational extremely sore losers resorting to blatant lies to try and mollify their pain.
