Im installing a motion sensor to a indoor lamp and noticed that the sensor comes with 3 wires,red black and white.The light only has 2 wires, white and black. how would I go about wiring them together and to a power source? feel free to email me for more info

the sensor was prewired to be installed in a unit with the same three wires but I know that it can be installed in the way I described

The white is the neutral and goes to the white, the black is the hot and goes to the black, the red is the switched hot wire and will go to the lamp wire after the switch.

The red wire from the sensor connects to the black wire(s) from the lamps only. All whites connect including the power source. The remaining black from the sensor unit connects to the black of the power source.
