I exercised in every way that I could: carry your kid instead of pushing in a stroller when out for walks or whenever possible, park far away and walk around the store/mall once before beginning your shopping, take the stairs, ANYTHING!
I eventually got myself a free membership to the local gym by working at the daycare center there one night a week... I could bring my daughter with me to work, have a free membership, you really get to know the staff well and trust them with your child while you're working out, plus free tanning too (what a bonus for me)! I later wound up just getting up an hour earlier in the morning and went by myself while the rest of the house slept. That way, I got some "me time" and got my workout out of the way before doing anything - what a feeling of accomplishment even if you do nothing else all day!
The dredded diet part: I ate whatever I wanted to! I just ate 1/2 of it. If I *really* wanted a Snickers, I ate 1/2 and gave the other 1/2 to someone else or just threw it out (until I learned self-controll and ate the other 1/2 the next time I *really* wanted one). I got myself a portion plate and put the meat and carbs in the smaller parts and the salad/veggies/fruits in the big part. I joined diet.com (you can do it for free, but I totally suggest paying the fee and getting all the awesome benefits of the site) where they really work with your personality and your lifestyle, not the latest fad in dieting. There's TONS of people there going through the same thing you are, and the support they give you is through the roof. There's weight trackers and food diaries to help you, menus and meal-planning advice... SO MUCH stuff! They have contests and challenges... it's a lot of fun, without the embarrassing weigh-ins at a Weight Watchers kinda place. The site and community there taught me to be accountable and responsible for my actions. It's great to be cheered on and cheer on others when we made our goals. It's heart-warming to comfort and be comforted in times of need and/or weakness. Give it a shot!

Cut down on meat and cheese (eat only small servings if/when you eat either of these), and cut down on junk food. Eat more fruits and veggies, and try to exercise at least 30 minutes a day at least 4 days per week... even if it's nothing more than walking. Aerobic exercise (getting your heart rate up, etc.) will start burning fat after just around 12 minutes, so you'll probably want to do aerobic exercise for at least 20-30 minutes to lose weight. Weight lifting can also help with toning, etc.
You can also burn more calories by planning activities (housework, walking, shopping, etc.) for times AFTER you eat. Plus, don't lie down after eating for at least 2-3 hours.

congrats on the arrival of your baby!! (remember you posting answers and questions awhile back).
i gained quite a bit of weight with my pregnancy. and honestly what i did, was just watched what i ate. cut out sweets during the week but would allow something small on saturday or sunday (pretty much just one day a week). i would take my lil ones on walks (have twins) during the day just to get out of the house. plus i would run when my husband got home (that was my way to relieve stress and relax and trust me i needed that release lol). also had a personal trainer help me get back into shape, spent about an hour at the gym every other day. but lost all the weight and got down to 115 (i'm 5'6'') in about a month and half to two months after the birth. i wasn't able to breast feed (couldn't produce enough milk for both of them), but i have heard that it is a GREAT way to help. you will lose about 500 cal. a day just by that, plus helps boost your motabolism!!
pretty much if you have your mind set on it, it will happen. also if you need help for some ideas of how to work out, i can help by giving you the exercises my trainer gave me.... they worked WONDERS!! email me if you need any help or have any other questions :)

I know it seems like it's never going to happen, but your body will return to normal. What I did was breastfeed, first of all. It really helped with the initial weight loss. Then I started pilates (a video) and running. Food control is my big issue, so I know of no tricks to getting yourself to not want or eat candy or chocolate and the like. If you have any for that, I would sure appreciate it! Good luck to you. Don't get discouraged!

Personally i went on the rice diet. Minute rice with a dash of salt, water or milk, and any type of vegetable. No butter or any additives. And fruit for breakfast, im not a big meat eater but chicken or any type of ROASTED meat is also good to have. Eat the rice and vegetables twice a day, fills you up fast and drops weight like no other diet around.

It will come off. Cut back 500 calaries a day and exercise at LEAST 30 minutes a day. Just remember, after 40 minutes, you're burning mostly fat, so the longer, the better.
