I asked a question about duct taping my daughter to her bed (which was a joke, people..) and someone answered

"No that's child abuse. Lock her in her room and she'll get bored enough to fall asleep in a couple hours.."

Is locking kids in their rooms suddenly not child abuse? Did I not get the memo? Was this person also kidding? I'm confused..

Even I knew you were kidding. You are not the first person to think of this method of behavior control. I had 7, 2 year olds so I know where you are at. I still tell my wife to get the duct tape sometimes. She knows I am kidding too.

no locking her in the room is bad to. but im sure shes old enough to where u put her in bed. and tell her to go to sleep. and she just laying there. my two year old likes to get up. trying to break him of this whole go to my bed thing. which is hard. its my fault cause i let him for so long. i was a single parent though so i guess from what i read. alot of us do that. but i think i waited to long to try to fix it. and its been an up hill battle. but what ur doing is not child abuse. and i know u were joking. ur to kind for that not to be a joke

I was just reading the answers to your previous two questions and was thinking to myself "hmmm"

Hope she gets to sleep soon so you can get some shut eye. I know how it is being woken up in the middle of the night too. Never fun.

Locking a child in her room so that she goes to sleep is not child abuse. Locking her in her room for... ever. Then, it's questionable.
