Pol Pot lead a rebellion in Cambodia and established a regime known as the Khmer Rouge.

The Khmer Rouge killed over a million people in Cambodia in the 1970's. He evacuated towns and put doctors, businessmen, teachers etc to work on the land in collective farms. It was a disaster. Eventually his government fell but he spent the next decade fighting a guerilla war.
