Im a Christian,And would NEVER get my fortune read.Or have a tarot reading,Ect.But i do enjoy looking at horoscopes. Is this a sin?I know that in the Bible it mentions Star Gazers and everything.Im just wondering is it evil? Because it seems almost scientifical,How people really do seem to be like their signs.I would never change my plans or life based on what they said,I just do like reading them and collecting 'Libra' keychains, ect. Is this against God? Thanks for any info!

Wow,i really did not mean to called forth Christian bashers. What i meant by i would never get my fortune read,Is that i would never go to someone who calls apon spirits to tell me my future.I just wanted to know,Because its so 'Common'.I mean they are in magazines like J-14 and M,Which are targeted at tweens. My 8-10 year old cousins read their horoscopes is those magazines. And im just worried that if it is a sin against God,then it is so generic. And thats sad! (By the way,I am not talking bad about your other religions,So i see no reason why you should mine! ) :-)

Also,I know that there are no acceptions as far as sin goes. But i see horoscopes as fictional writing.Because i dont believe in them.I read them for fun,Just as i do books. So is this still considered as intentional sin?

I used to be a Christian and a church goer, they said it's horror-scope. Well i do not believe this is a sin, as long as you only take it as a pleasure rather than a serious belief.

I am a Christian too, and I used to read horoscope books. Conservative Christians say it's a sin, and liberal Cristians say it's OK. But let me tell you my opinion: there is no way you can know future, unless God tells you. If you want forecast or prediction, there are many scientific tools that can provide you better forecast, but certainty is a utopia.

If you want to know people's character, there are also many better ways. You can learn psychology rather than astrology. So, I would say horoscopes are useless.

Of course sometimes I am tempted to know what they say, but they tell you everything they want to tell you. So, what are you reading for?

No. They aren't evil. They're just generalizations.
They work for almost all people and have no real science behind them other than a small amount of psychology.
I find it good to read them becuase they do generally apply to my life in some way. I realize that they are just guesses, but it helps to look at parts of your life that maybe you don't always think about.

The Magi from the East were actually following the laws of astrology when they sought out the newborn God in human form. Astrology in itself isn't evil: it is just a tool, a way of understanding. The error comes when one allows this tool to run their entire life. In other words they become so dependent on knowing their future, they stop trusting God. The Universe God formed is GOOD. And there is so much mystery to this creation, it is better to have a mind open to understanding these mysteries, rather than to close off your mind because of fear or dogma.

I don't think they are evil, just a huge amount of bullshit. Maybe the "genera" books about horoscopes are a bit more credible (those who give the overall attributes for such or such sign) but come on, please don't believe in the ones you find every morning in the newspapers, this is just meant to keep naive people busy.

I'm a Christian also, and I've been told my whole life that horoscopes, card/palm erading, and psychics are against God's will cause they are forms of worshipping false idols which is one of the 10 commandments.

There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
Deuteronomy (18:10,11) King James version.

Astrology, channeling, Ouija boards, predicting the future, and much else is forbidden. The author of Deuteronomy does not argue that such practices fail to deliver what they promise. But they are "abominations" - perhaps suitable for other nations, but not for the followers of God.

according to christians yes, they are evil. supposably there are "spirits" everywhere at all times. and when psychics or in early days gypsies spoke to the spirit of one of your relatives or someone you knew supposably the "spirits" who are around all the time, at least one of them would know whatever question you asked them, so the evil spirits would assume the identity of the person you thought u were speaking to. this goes as far back as to even the puritans burning everyone on their hunts for witches. belive what you want. you christians are crazy.
