Are you sure that is very little mathematics application in real world? Actually, you cannot afford to skip learning math, because every science uses mathematics extensively. Let me give you some examples:
1. In engineering, you definitely need math because there are lots of equations and formula.
2. In demography, you definitely need statistics.
3. In finance & banking, you need to learn logic & financial mathematics, e.g. interest calculation.
4. In computing, well, actually computer is an extended version of calculator.
5. Should I mention tens other examples?

You need to learn mathematics in order to be able to think logically.

For one thing, it teaches you to manage tools you have at your disposal to solve a problem, in other words to THINK.; to use your brain. If you think math is not useable in everyday life, wait until you are a home owner and an investor or just working any kind of job and you will understand how numbers and math are used in just about everything you encounter. But if you don't make the effort to learn it now while you have the opportunity, you will regret it later and end up having to teach your self or take night classes. So
do it now while you have the opportunity. I gurantee you won't regret it.

not really, math is applied in many domains: engineering, economy, computers
Even in social sciences you might use statistics. Now you might work in a domain that doesnt require much math like languages. Even so you might need elementary notions in every day life: accounts for shopping, bills, calculating interest for your bank account or taking measurements around your house.
Another utility is more subtle: it makes you think logically in all your life actions.

I think math is applied in almost all areas like chemistry, and a little in bio, in physics, and hence is applied in all sciences. You only need to take math for 3 yrs in high school.

Give me an instance of a career where math isn't involved and I'll bet I can tell you a way it is.
