What do you mean by "homely" buddy?!?
If you mean "ugly" then I won't say a damn thing about the baby.
I'm not a hypocrite but then again, I don't wish to offend or upset the mom or dad by giving them my unsolicited opinion, if you know what I mean!
The only problem only arises if the parents actually ask me what I think of their bundle of joy.
Then I really don't know what to say and I hate lying so I'll swiftly change the subject.
P.S. I hate lying because I'm such a lousy liar! I'm no good at it so I tend to avoid situations where I may need to tell a lie or two in order to get out of sticky situations!

Walking in Target Store with former gf, my gf commented at the baby in a stroller a young mom was pushing past us, "Did you see
that baby? How cute." I blurted, "Are you kidding? That was an
ugly baby!" I turned as I said it. The mom heard clearly. I am
intitled to my opinion same as anyone else!

Of course, what kind of monster would say otherwise. However, I will usually say something like " Oh, he/she is so cute, he/she looks just like your husband/wife. Besides even ugly babies are cute, unless they happen to be screaming and red in the face.

I find something cute about all babies but if you just say oh the baby looks so much like you , then you can't go wrong unless they diss their own baby and say it's ugly .

Of course, I always say they have their mommies eyes or their daddies nose. You have to be kind about this. In their eyes it's the most beautiful baby in the world!

YES!!! all babies are cute even if they are butt ugly, they're cute! My dad, rest his soul, used to say that even the monkees in the zoo think their children are beautiful!!!Now be nice, Koochie-Koochie Koo!

no,but I wont say its ugly,i just wont speak up at all,if another person says "dont u think the baby is cute?" and its infront of their parents u best believe ill lie!!!!!!!(i just couldnt break their hearts)

I never say babies are cute because I don't think they are! They look like little wrinkly people. I just say something like "aww... look at her (or him).."
