Hello,
I started taking keyboards apart to clean them about 6 years ago when I spilled a glass of milk into my keyboard on a Sunday afternoon. I was halfway through typing a term paper due Monday and there was no place to get a new keyboard open less than two hours drive away. I was very pleased with the results of my experiment and have cleaned numerous keyboards this way. One rainy day I actually took a few pictures while I was cleaning one and documented the process on my web page. So here it is: How to Disassemble and Clean your Keyboard:

The page is clean by the way. No pop-ups or ads of any kind.

I would not recommend you taking off the keys due to the possibility of breakage. I use a small vac. and a couple cans of compressed air. Before you use the spray cans place the keyboard sideways with either side on the desk and gently tap the back of the keyboard then use the cans with your free hand. I found some attachments at the local Pc shop for the vac that are designed for keyboards. $5.00 I use these about once a month and my keyboards work fine.
Hope it helps

You could just buy the keyboard spray at the store. It does a great job in cleaning the inside without the hassel of popping the keys off and risking breaking a key.

un plug the keyboard, and turn it upside down, and now shake it!
what ever is left can simply be blown out.
if there's still stuff stuck in there shake it to one corner, and use a make up brush to get the rest out.
why are people giving some crazy complicated ideas? you could always tie the keyboard to a cement block and wait for a tornado to come along and that would make it super clean! lol some people are just puerile

Believe it or not, you can actually put your keyboard into a dishwasher! How much cleaner can you make it, than by doing that? You just need to make sure that it is totally dry before you reconnect it to your computer. Otherwise, you will have keyboard errors. If you put the keyboard into the dishwasher, it will not only be clean, but sterilized

Draw a hot bath with some bubble bath. Take a nice long relaxing bath for yourself.
Once done, throw in the keyboard and scrub it, rinse with the shower head.
More than likely, the keyboard will be ruined, and very clean. Then go out and get a new one, they are only $10 or so.
(Don't do this if it's an expensive unit!)

After using can air, I have an assortment of art brushes that I use to clean my keyboard. Once in a while I will use the vaccuum to deep clean it.

Get a somewhat DAMP rag, no rely if this is purely too moist, then you definitely wreck your computer! so which you will desire to get a soaking towel and purely press it on a rag until eventually the rag is somewhat, yet pretty, moist. 3. Use a DRY rag to wipe off any of the greater water 2nd: much less annoying Get the spray can

use compressed air, goto ur local staples or office depot and clean it that way, that's probably the best and fastest way to do the job. It will cost you no more than 4 dollars for compressed air
