They don't attack, but like any other creature will fight back if they feel threatened or cornered.
I have heard that they can be carriers of the virus that causes leprosy but have never seen any scientific papers on it.

You had better not be covered in ants. Armadillos can cover 300 yards in 10 seconds climb on your shoulder and lick your brain out through your ear. Or is that Mearcats ?

yes they can attack i was approached by one a few years ago, i was in my friends backyard tryin to get her to come open the door and i saw something runnin towards me so i jumped on top of the air conditioning unit and it just looked at me for about 20 minutes and left when the neighbors dog started barking it went into a hole in the ground, they are very odd looking and have a strange pale face

I wish there were armadillos where I lived. We just have skunks and porcupines. I'll trade you a porcupine for an armadillo..?
