what breed is your turtle?

some are total vegetarians, some are omnivores and others carnivores.

also turtles have very specific diets - he may not eat crayfish... or... maybe he is just not hungry.

Large Red-ears and other pond turtles eat small crayfish, but if the crayfish is big or the turtle is small, it won't work. In fact, large crawdads are known to eat baby turtles.

Remember- turtles eat prey pretty much whole- if the food is too big, it just won't happen!

Hello..crayfish are mean, chances are if the bit or grabbed the turtle with his claws, he is scared of it & vice versa..critters have the need to survive & defend themselves ...stick with feeder fish, worms or what you've been feeding him..crayfish can & will hurt your turtle ..most water turtles are meat & fish eaters .. just wouldn't use crayfish..Take Care :)

He may not like the taste of the crayfish. I had two land turtles in the past and they both ate totally different menus. It sounds to me like you have a water turtle. Try buying little guppies or some other little fish. My turtle loved chicken!!! Lots of protein in that.
