If I became a singer, there are so many songs that I would want to remake/cover such as a "House is Not a Home" by Dionne Warwick which was later covered by Luther Vandross, "Thieves In the Temple" by Prince, "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" by Rose Royce, "All I Do" by Stevie Wonder, etc.
But for my first remake I would flip the script like Lyfe Jennings and remake a hip hop joint. So the first song I would remake would have to be no other than "Smile" by Scarface feat.Johnny P & Tupac. Although it is a somewhat universal song, it would be great to re-create this song from a female standpoint.

I would cover Modern English's "I Melt With You". The two recent covers (especially the Bowling for Soup version) were awful.

I would cover The Cure's "Just Like Heaven." The lyrics really are beautiful. It's an amazing song. I like Katie Melua's cover, but I feel like there was more she could have done with it.
