I think I could challenge Grossman and I haven't played full contact in over 12 years.

Firstly, the bears did a smart move and got a proven qb is leak from a proven and best program out there. All this talent that is coming into the league is from the Sec and Leak has beaten them. I have been a gator fan from as long as I can remember and I watched Rexy and now I watched Leak, yes Rex has alot more "gun" strength but Leak throws some of the best timed and spiral balls I've ever seen. As to whether Leak will challenge Grossman I dont think so this year, plus you all forgot another key person in the lineup, Kyle Orton who although wasnt very productive produced wins. I do feel however that Leak will take the #3 real at least and later in preseason might just take the #2 spot but Rex's spot is as good as sealed up, Grossman could have one of the most prolific offense this Bears team has seen, just look at the lineup: Olsen, Muhammed, Berrian, Clark, Benson, and possibly Davis.

Even picking up Leak indicates that the Bears are trying to put some "fire under the belly" of Rex Grossman. Either put up or get ousted. However, I don't understand all this anti-Grossman sentiment. Sure, he choked in the Super Bowl and that offense wasn't the greatest (aside from some monster RBs) but he showed promising signs as a young QB. Chris Leak is a great pick-up but don't completely sell off on Grossman just yet. A challenge, yes...

chris leak wont be challenging grossman for the starting job because leak doesnt have no where close to arm that grossman has and plus griese would beat out grossman b4 leak would cause they want somebody that has some exprience even though grossman was up and down all year. he still can be a good QB for the bears. he has been the best one and one they kept all season long starting since jim mcmahon. and plus he got us to super bowl. so they just wont unsit him from the starting role.

I believe Leak can challenge Grossman if Grossman continues to play the way he is. Grossman was good for a little bit, but I think the offense was the only reason he was.

In case you missed my drift... the answer is no, Chris Leak will not challenge Grossman. Grossman just got his first full year of experience under his belt and while some games were horrible, most of the others were exceptional. Those flashes of brilliance encourage the Bear's coaches to work with him to draw out his abilities, so that his good games are exceptional, and his bad games will improve to merely average performances.

I don't see why not. At least he is mobile. Perhaps he is there to learn from Rex on the fine aspects of how to throw interceptions off of your back foot everytime there is a whisper of pressure. It is Grossmans job to lose (he is trying hard to do that) and if he doesn't show some quick improvement somebody is going to get a shot at it. Brian Griese probably stands in Leak's way. Hard to give Griese a grade based on last year. He wasn't good at all when he had the chance but it is hard to come in after holding the clipboard for 10 Weeks and be effective.

Leak won't even make the Bears team. Don't forget that the Bears still have Brian Griese, and he is a better QB than Grossman.
